My Story
Hello, my name is Ian Richardson. In February 2011, I was diagnosed with cancer. And, for 3 years I managed to have a full-time job. Unfortunately, in April of 2014, I had to give up working as I had to begin a 2-year chemotherapy journey.
I used up my retirement and savings during the first year. I decided that I needed a way to make money to help with what my Social Security Disability was not covering. So, after discussing it with my life partner, I chose Scentsy.
My main reason for this decision was that we had both worked in the Wax Manufacturing area of Scentsy and I knew at once that I wanted to use the products regularly.
Being a Scentsy Consultant allowed me to have both a way to use a product that I loved and to help make the needed money.
Unfortunately, after 6 months the chemotherapy took its toll, and I was unable to make the sales I needed to keep my business alive.
In August of 2023, I received an email from Scentsy saying that I could restart my business for free unless I wanted a reinstatement kit. Since I knew I needed everything the kit held I got that kit and restarted my business.
With the help of a new upline and friends, I made the sales I needed to keep the business going.
Even though I still get maintenance chemotherapy every month, I am constantly talking to everyone I meet. To give my love of Scentsy to anyone who will listen and hand out business cards like candy.
I am enthusiastic about Scentsy, and the family that it is. I have made many new friends in the Scentsy family, and like family, we all help each other.
My goal is to build my business and help others who love Scentsy products to build a business and become part of my Scentsy family.
